ALFRED ASIAMA-SAMPONG (Principal Attorney)

Founder and Managing Partner, Alfred has extensive experience as a Corporate and Finance lawyer in Ghana and the United Kingdom.

Alfred has over 15 years’ experience representing institutional clients. Alfred is an experienced corporate/commercial lawyer with finance experience with specialization in the energy, financial and infrastructure sectors. An economics and business graduate, Alfred's early career as an Analyst at PriceWaterHouse Coopers has strengthened her ability to provide clients with commercially sound legal advice..

Alfred has a strong understanding of the African legal and business landscape., including the unique cultural and political challenges across different countries. An expert in advising firms setting up in emerging markets, she has a deep knowledge of international trade and customs law. His experience ranges from establishing businesses and consultancies, to working with multinational firms conducting cross-border mergers, acquisitions, financing and refinancing. He also specializes in insolvency and corporate restructuring, having advised PwC on the liquidation of Ghana Airways in 2005.

He holds an LLM in Corporate Commercial Law and is currently undertaking an LLM in Banking and Finance Law.  He also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Law, Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Economics and Business Law, and is a Barrister of England and Wales, Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Ghana. He is a member of Lincoln’s Inn and the Ghana Bar Association.



AFUA OHENWEWAA KORANTENG (Partner)

Afua Adubea Koranteng has over 15 years’ experience as an International Corporate Lawyer with significant expertise in telecom, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and agribusiness. She is a seasoned advocate with in-depth knowledge and extensive experience in navigating regulatory affairs in Ghana and has acted on behalf of international clients across various industries. Prior to co-founding CQ Legal, Afua served as Head of Legal and Company Secretary for ATC Ghana which is a subsidiary of the NYSE listed American Tower Corporation. She was responsible for all commercial negotiations for the Company in Ghana and was lead counsel for ATC’s acquisition of MTN Ghana’s tower infrastructure.

She is an experienced Facilitator, delivering high profile training on various corporate policies including the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and the UK Anti-Bribery Act and other customized programs. She was called to the Bar of England and Wales at the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn and subsequently to the Ghana Bar as a Barrister and Solicitor. She holds an LLB degree from the University of Kent at Canterbury in the United Kingdom, a Master of Laws LLM in International Economic Law from the University of Warwick in England with a thesis on “Stock Market Development in Africa: A Perspective from Ghana and South Africa” and a Post Graduate Diploma in International Trade Law and Corporate Law from the BPP Law School in London.  

She is a member of the Ghana Bar Association, the English and Welsh Bar and the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn..

 




KENNETH AGYEI (Associate)

Kenneth is qualified to practice law in Ghana and has advised on corporate and commercial transactions with a particular interest in corporate finance, capital market transactions and aspects of international sale of goods. 

Kenneth has a background in both law and real estate management. He studied for his degree in Land Economy at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and received his Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Ghana where he graduated top of his class with First Class Honours.

Kenneth has a Masters of Laws degree (Corporate and Commercial Law) from the London School of Economics and Political Science where he was the maiden recipient of Tullow Oil John Atta Mills Scholarship. Kenneth is a lecturer at Lancaster University Ghana where he teaches Company and Commercial Law and is also Department Co-ordinator for the Law Programme.
